E-SIGNINGS
E-signings are the paperless versions of loan documents which borrowers review and sign on-line. Loan documents that are to be “e-signed” are stored on a secure web site and accessed by a password. The borrowers may preview their loan documents on-line a couple of days before the signing. At the closing, instead of sitting with a pen and stack of papers, borrowers review their documents on-line and “accept” by clicking a button, which instantaneously creates an electronic signature. The electronic signature is a digitally encoded series of characters that’s unique to that signature. Documents that require notarization are typically printed out and signed by the borrower. The notary then scans the signed, notarized documents and uploads them to the lender.
E-signings will benefit all parties involved and will:
